Happy holidays everyone!
Today I picked up an Intel i5-2500K processor. This is unusual for me, as I have always been a huge AMD fan. I have not used an Intel processor since the days of the Q6600. However, needing to cut back on power usage while increasing performance, I have opted for the sandy bridge processor paired with the P67 chipset.
I will have an unboxing video uploaded soon, but for now, here are some box and proc pics.

hi Slappa good day, i am totally agree that we need to cut back on power usage while increasing performance for this moment. i hope that you are still AMD huge fan as i am also its fan for last 3 platform Socket 939 3000+ overclocked to 2.4Ghz, AM2 Phenom 8450, AM3 Phenom II 555BE unlocked to B55 @3.8Ghz… i look forward to your updates for the unboxing pictures and videos, don’t forget your overclock results
I will always have a soft spot for AMD, but I must admit this 2500K is quite the performer.
I will post up some results soon, but currently I am pumping out 4.8GHz @ 1.35Vcore without a sweat. I’ve been stress testing the CPU all night and day and had no problems yet. I want to push to 5GHz but I am not sure if it is attainable with this chip.
Cheers
