I was impressed at this budget APU to be able to manage Skyrim. While it is not a graphically intensive game, the A6-3400M can still handle the game at playable frame rates with medium settings. Here is the video I made: Not bad for a $400 Laptop

So I propped my laptop close to a window to prevent overheating on these runs. It’s great to know I can actually get this APU to run CB at 3GHz. Impressive for a laptop chip. First here’s a 2.9GHz @ 1.2500V run to show scaling Then the 3GHz @ 1.2875V run   With a score [...]

Tonight I ripped apart my laptop. This is a procedure I have done many times…not without pains. I was hesitant to take apart this unit at first, but the processor temperatures were becoming a problem. I wanted to lower my temps. So I took the dive and took apart my HP g6 in order to [...]

I decided to boost my A6-3400 up to its turbo boost speed of 2.3GHz and lock it at that. I also managed to lower the voltage. I wanted a real world stability test. Something I tend to use that stresses a lot of my computers is folding. What better way to find out of my [...]

After owning this laptop for nearly a month, I can say it is an excellent unit. However this did not come without tweaking. Long days spent at school studying and working require a laptop with a long battery life. At stock settings, the HP G6 does not do a very good job. At best with [...]

I am known for disappearing from the internet, and not posting on my blog for long periods of time. The cause of this: first year university. One of my classes, involves basic level C++ programming. I am absolutely captivated by something I used to avoid. I always though of myself as a hardware guy, but [...]

Congrats to AMD, Simon Solotko, Chew*, Macci & Schradin! Bulldozer is a winner. This is for all the skeptics out there! World Record Significance Still, unless you are intimately familiar with subzero overclocking like I am, or you just get excited by new records like I do, you may be asking what a CPU Frequency [...]

I am absolutely loving my new llano laptop. The desktop feel is very smooth and quick, quicker than most laptops I have used recently. Picked up an HP g6 for $399 CAD A6-3400 APU w/ 6520G 6GB Ram All I can say is wow, I’m blown away at the price performance this thing has. I [...]

Did a live stream of my 555 dry ice run the other night. Not very eventful, however I did manage to pull out once decent core clock. This particular core was better than my best 1090T core which maxed out at around 5579 valid. Enjoy the MHz.   Validation

Seems these new denebs have been surpassing the thubans quite a bit lately when looking at individual cores. This 555 that I have here in my bench, has an extremely high VID (1.425V) which is normally terrible for a CPU meaning it will not overclock well. This chip did quite the opposite. Not as good [...]
